Thank you for this. Every year I post a candle on my web page and blog and then pass along the site address to all of my friends and family. It's so important to remember this day. Thank you.

I'm sorry about September 11 2001. I will pray for your love one.

My name is Benita Curry. I'm 12 year old in the seventh. I loss my brother his name is Micheal Wright. He was 14 when he died. I was very sad because that was my best brother. I was sad because that was wrong about who ever did that to that airplane.

P.S. Love Benita Curry

Although some time has passed it truly feels as if it were only yesterday that we all awoke to the horror of september 11th. I feel as if we have grown, discovered the strength that has always made our country so unique and individual from all others. I still cry at each passing thought of how many families are left with only memories to hold onto. They have been cheated, and there is not a way to ever bring back what they once held so dear. I can only continue to offer my love, sympathy, strength and prayers to all of the families, and can only promise that I will never take for granted one second of the time I have left on this earth.

My children and I are making red white and blue ribbons with usa on them. We made the ribbons and attatched them to a pin so that people can wear them on 9/11 each year in remembrance of the great tradgedy.
We attached them to [a] handout [with words of inspiration] and are distributing them thru our neighborhood.

God bless America... And to all that lost their lives on September 11, 2001, in New York, in Washington D.C. and in PA. We will always remember you.

What can I say? It is nearly a year already since these events started and rocked the world. I remember the night clearly. I was babysitting my neice while my sister and Mother took my sister 6 month old baby to the Royal Childrens Hospital. I could not sleep and turned on the T.V. I was completely shocked at what I saw before me. I rang my husband back at my house as he is American, and we spoke every so often throughout the night as the events unfolded before our eyes.

I can not express how emotional I am to this very day after these such dreadful events. I am not looking forward to the 9/11 [anniversary] at all. My heart goes out to everybody who lost their loved ones not only in America but from around the world.

I feel so much courage for all the men and women from the fire fighters, police, ambulance men, nurses, doctors and everyday people who risked there own lives to help others.

My heart is full of heavy emotion whenever something is mentioned about that dreadful day. I am filled with such sorrow but also pride at the way everyone pulled together and helped each other. That alone says something about humankind.

America, we here in Australia — and I know all across the world — are with you with your sorrow, heartache and so much loss. Americans are not alone in this and from the fellow postings it makes me smile that people from all different countries feel the same as I do.

We all have to stand together against such terrorism... We are all God's children. I love you America... God Bless you all and God bless this world.

America is not alone in this 1 year anniversay... the world is watching, the world is grieving...

My love to all...

Spetember 11, 2001 was a sudden tragedy for all, not just those involved. We as a nation were and still are being put at risk by those who want to bring sudden harm to our lives. We must all stand together at this great time in our life. We must not let petty things such as race, age or background stand in the way of us all pulling together. No one stands alone. We will not go down into the night, we're going to live on. We are once agagin fighting for our independence. We are one. We are a whole.

Greetings from England. I just want you to know that we are so proud that our soldiers are alongside yours in Afghanistan, because the light of freedom is something we must protect fiercely and at all costs. I have a lapel pin with our two flags crossed, that I bought before Sept 11th. I wear it with pride. The way of life enshrined in your Constitution, which was based on the best ideals of democracy your forefathers brought with them from the Old World, is the greatest lesson you can give the world about how life is best to be lived. God bless America. Let freedom reign and justice prevail.

My fellow Americans, I still remember September 11, 2001. And I will never forget all the heroes that came out of this terrible tragedy. I have cried for people I didn't even know , but their famlies touched my heart with their undying love. The stories made me sob... If I could have been there to hug them, maybe I could have helped. But my prayers will have to be enough. I will always remember.

Thank you for your inspiration and thoughfulness. In this time we all are sharing, praying which is great. I personally had a tragedy in my life that will affect me until the day I die and the 9-11-01 incident gave me flashbacks of that day on 12-14-99 that my son took his life and I found him.

I pray for the families and that God will give them strength to carry them thru. It is hard, I know in some ways. Pray for our peacekeepers, The President of the United States and all of his cabinet. Keep everyone safe.

This web site is helpful and amazing. There is a part of me that wants to go and see the [WTC site] and another part says not to. It is still hard to imagine that there are people in this world that would do such a horrific thing to another country.... God bless us one and all.

Hello Dear Bob,

I put the ribbon on my webpage.

I hope this madness will be over real soon. We follow the news everyday. And it hurts when I see all those people in pain. The WTC hurts us all in the Netherlands... we lost people, too...

Bob, you did a great job to make [this] page. They all love it. And me the most. I [found a link to your page on the] Willie Nelson page. And [the Candle & Ribbon] will be there until everything is over and we have peace again.

With my sweet regards,

Your candle and ribbon are an inspiration to every human being. Like so many others I was on getting ready to leave for work. I turned on the news, saw the first strike, then the second and later the Pentagon with a total sense of disbelief, anger, questions. I lost very dear friends at the Pentagon; so many others were lost in New York... Thank you for your help...

Watching the men and women sifitng through the wreckage is so difficult. That morning I was getting ready to leave and turned on the T.V. My son came into the room (he's eight) just as the second plane hit and said, " Mom is that a movie?" I only wish I could have said, "Yes, son, its only a movie." But I had no words. I keep thinking it was all just a bad dream and we will wake up to find everything as it should be. It has been wonderful to see the people around the world whom we have helped in the past, get in line to help us. I never thought this could happen. God has blessed America in the past and He will again. What has hurt my heart more than anything is the random acts of violence against anyone who appears to be middle eastern, or who prays differently than we do. Remember, to God, they are as precious as you are.

Well, my English is bad, but anyway... Hm... I think, it doesn't help much, but most of us in Germany can't believe it, too... It's such a tragedy. We respectfully look up to you, the policemen, the firefighters, the helping people, the people who have lost their loved, the searching-dogs... Short: ALL AMERICANS who never give up!!! But remember: You never walk alone. We'll be always at your side.

Respectfully and hurt,

Thank you for this wonderful image. It is now in two prominent places on my web site. We will keep it lit. It provides a very important focal point around which to express feelings, profess belief in our Nation's integrity and to proclaim our commitment to ensuring that the Flame never goes out. Thank you again. Sincerely, SandyV AKA: Freedom Berd.

On 9/11/01, I was sitting in my chemistry class and my teacher came back from an errand and told us about the first plane that hit. We all thought that it was a joke (unfortunately) and didn't believe him and turned on the radio. I then went to my English class and my teacher told us about the Pentagon and the second tower of the WTC. We were all in shock and most of us began to cry, or at least tear up.

From then until now, I have thought differently about life and people in general. We all have to live each day to its fullest. Thank you so much for the pictures for our wallpaper. God bless.

I'm an Australian and togeather with my family I would like to say how very sorry we are. Our hearts go out to all families who have loved ones lost or missing. We would love to help in some way but the only thing I can think of at the moment is to pray for you all in the USA. May god help you all through this horror. May you all be kept safe & well from this day on.

My TV has a timer, and on 9-11-01, I awoke to images that were so incredible that all I could think of was "War of the Worlds". It still seems unreal to me. I think the terrorists did a lot more than they bargained for, because I believe that the entire nation died that day, in that our peace of mind, and our sense of safety and security, as a collective whole was shattered.

But in that death, I think that we will acheive a rebirth of sorts. We were reborn as a nation, together. We pull together, and I think, in the end, we will be a stronger America.

To those who experienced ultimate loss, my heart is with you. Do not despair, for your loved ones are with us all. God Bless You!

It is so poignant that we see the very best side of Americans at the very worst of times. I am deeply moved by the caring, the desire to help that I have seen from all Americans during this time. For about 9 hours, I thought that I had lost my niece Toni in this tragedy. To all the people who have not heard from their loved ones, I want to say that I know life will never be the same for you again. But at the same time, you will probably never be so cared for and so loved by as many people as you are right now. People that don't know you, will never know you, are truly grieving for you and your family. Because we are all a part of your family. I am, as always, proud to live here, proud to be part of this amazing country. May the light from the candles we'll light tonight be great enough to carry you through your pain and loss. My love to you all. God Bless us all.

On 9/11/01 I got out of bed around 8:30. I walked through the livingroom, turning on the TV as I went into the kitchen to fix myself a bowl of cereal. I picked out Cheerios. I went back into the livingroom to see what was on TV. I sat down on the floor. I lifted my spoon, full of Cheerios, up to my mouth as I glanced up at the TV. My hand froze and I quickly droped the spoon back into the bowl. I glarred up at the TV ammazed and shocked. My mouth dropped open and I could feel my throat begining to tighten up. One plane had just collided into one of the World Traid Centers. I watched as I saw another plane do the same thing to the other World Traid Center. I pushed my bowl asside and channeled my attention in on the news broadcaster. As I watched, torn with fear, I felt my eyes wattering up. There I sat, on my livingroom floor, crying as I watched in horror.

God bless all of America. Be with the people who are suffering today because of this terrible and cowardly action. My Heart goes out to everyone one, all Americans. I have watched this since the early morning of the 11th and I is so very hard to understand why any human would want to do this type thing to another human.... I appreciate your effort and will gladly use the candle on my web site.

I find it difficult to explain how we all feel in the UK. Sadness, anger, support and compassion for all in the USA and New York, still THE most vibrant and exciting of cities.

There are never enough words to express how one feels at a time like this. I know in my heart that we will as a nation rise above this attack. To those families that have lost loved ones or are awaiting word on them, my heartfelt prayers are with you.

I know that all of use who are able to write these messages, thank God for sparing our lives..... and now we must also contribute to this cause to make this nation stronger and hold on to the truths we so embrace. Truly we are a blessed nation. Thank you God, and continue to look over us as we will remain the caring and free nation and light of hope to all suppressed peoples.... America and its people.... remain the hope of the world. God bless all those who have been involved in the rescue efforts.

Thank you for the beautiful graphics. I watched in horror the unfolding tragedy of Sep. 11,2001 and felt as if I could not breathe for fear something else would appear even more horrific on the TV.

The entire nation grieves for those lost in all 3 disasters. Now we must prepare ourselves for what must come as a result of this evil. I did not lose anyone in the disasters but do have a daughter who is an officer in the Air Force and is currently on duty over seas. I am proud to be an American and will do what must be done to insure our right to continue as a free and safe nation.

We would like to extend our condolences to the families and friends who have lost loved ones during the Sept. 11th terrorist attack in New York and Virginia. Your pain and your tears are shared by many over your loss. We hold you in our hearts and prayers.

In talking with my neighbors and friends, have found that almost all knew someone or were related to someone living or working near that area. We thought we were alone with our worries, just to find out that our neighbors were concerned about someone too. Through the communications, there came a pulling together of neighbors and neighborhoods and somehow a "strength" and "uniting" was felt. There was talk of lighting candles and praying together. When we watched the film footage of Tuesday's horror, we felt a "domino effect" falling across the country. In communicating with my neighbors and sharing the heartfelt pain and worries and talk of hope and courage and especially our faith in God, we felt a sense of one domino standing up and helping the next one stand up, etc. It became the "domino effect" in reverse. Was not hearing "me" or "I", but the word"we". My prayer is that the reverse domino effect move through the neighborhoods to strengthen all of America and the countries that stand with America.

The new slogan, "One America, One Community" says it all.

We would like to ask all who may read this to continue praying for the families and friends who have experienced a loss, praying for our country and our political leaders and their support staff, and please pray for our military, from generals to the foot soldiers, and our communities.

Thank you, Bob, for creating a wonderful website.

Last Tuesday morning my husband and I were getting ready to leave the house. I headed for the the television to turn it off and was stopped by the image I saw. I stood there as my stomach dropped. My husband came in the room and asked what was going on. At that time, only one building had been hit and they weren't sure if it was an accident or not. We watched for a few more minutes when we saw the other plane fly in and hit the second building. I was horrified. All I could say was, "Dear Jesus." We both sat down in silence and stared at the television.

I never imagined anything like this would ever happen in America. A very terrible evil came in and tried to tear this country apart on September 11th. Now is the time to join together and pray. Pray that God's will be done. We must keep our faith and hope in Him. He is our strong tower and our portion.

I want to encourage those who have lost so much. "Jesus is the friend that is closer than a brother." For every tear you cry . . . He cries with you. For the pain and loneliness you feel . . . He feels with you. He will never leave you. God bless you, and you all are in our prayers.
